Hello fellow adventurers! The 10-Day Meditation Challenge launches soon, which sounds more ‘climbing Everest’ than it really is. It’s not really a challenge, is it? To commit to yourself for 10 minutes a day, 10 days in a row?
We’ll see.
Here’s the practical stuff.
How long should I meditate for?
At least 10 minutes each day. Anything more than that is a bonus. This is about building a practice, not finding enlightenment. (Although you never know!)
When should I meditate?
You choose a time that suits. My suggestion is first thing in the morning. Then it’s done. But really, there are no rules. The only rule is… don’t beat yourself up if for some reason you miss a day. There’s always tomorrow.
Should I sit cross legged on the floor?
You can sit in full lotus if that’s comfortable for you, but most people I know sit in a chair. I have an armchair in the corner of my room. I used to sit on the floor but now find that if I do, it takes a while to feel my legs again. Ha!
How do I meditate?
I’ll send more information on this, including some guided options. But the easiest way to approach this is to focus on your breath, in and out of your heart centre… for 10 minutes. When your thoughts drift, bring your focus back to the centre…
Anything else?
Because I mostly use guided meditations, I wear headphones and an eye mask. It blocks out the external world, so I can focus on the internal world. It’s not a requirement though.
Who can join in?
All subscribers can participate, including in the chat, which helps build community. Paid subscribers also get some added extras.
Remember, if you join in, the challenge is to meditate for 10/10.
Ten days straight. A minimum of ten minutes a day.
Who’s in?
With gratitude,
Jane xx
